The University of Nice Sophia Antipolis is the university, which is located in Nice, France and the neighboring areas. It was officially established on October 23, 1965. However, if speaking about its predecessors, one should mention that it is traced back to the 17th century with the Collegium Jurisconsultorum Niciensium which was founded in 1965 by prince Savoy. It was a famous and valuable school of low and jurisdiction. When University of Nice was founded, it consisted of the four faculties, faculty of law, faculty of letters, faculty of   faculty of sciences, faculty of economics.

In 1989, in order to show the relations with Sophia Antipolis Technology Park, the name of Sophia Antilopis was joined to the title of the University of Nice.

There are three main campuses within the structure of the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis:  Valrose Campus (Scinces), Trotabas Campus (Economics, law, and Management), Carlone Campus (Arts, Humanities, and Letters). Nevertheless, Saint-Jean D’Angele Campus in the territory of Nice, and Sophia Antipolis or Villefranche-sur-Mer out of the territory of Nice are also considered to be the campuses of the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis.

The University of Nice Sophia Antipolis is rather popular among the residents of France that is why the competition during the admission into it is rather big.

Paris Sorbonne University is the university located in Paris, France. It is an inheritor of the former University of Paris’ Arts and Sciences Faculties.  First, the University of Paris was established in 12th century; however, in 1970 it was reorganized into 13 autonomous universities.

The name of the University is given to it in honor of Robert de Sorbon, a man who founded the collegiate institution (College de Sorbone) in 1257. However, the university is considered to be much more older, and in fact, it   was never completely centered in Sorbon.

After the reformation of the University in 1971, five faculties of the former Universite de Paris were reformed into 13 universities. The following Universities still keep the memories of the University of Sorbonne in their names: Paris-Sorbonne University, The new Sorbonne, and Pantheon-Sorbonne.

In 2006, United Arab Emirates and the Paris-Sorbonne University have signed an agreement of the establishing new University, which goes under the title   University-Paris-Sorbonne-Abu Dhabi. This event is the first one in its origin n the history of the public higher education in France, as earlier, there were no Universities of France presented abroad.

Nowadays, Paris Sorbonne University is ranked 29 in terms of Arts and Humanities. Main centers of teaching are Central Sorbonne Building, Clignancourt, Malesherbes, Michelet, Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi Campus, Championnet.
