The University of Pau and Pays de l’Adour (UPPA) for short was established in 1972. This higher educational institution is considered to be multi-sited. The University of Pau and Pays de l’Adour is considered to be the third largest educational institution within the whole southwestern part of France. The administration of the university is run by the Academy of the Bordeaux. The whole amount of students is nearly 12,000 of students.
The University of Pau and Pays de l’Adour was established in 1970. However, the origins of the Law faculty are traced back to the year of 1947.
The largest campus is entitled Pau campus. The location of it is very convenient. It is situated in twenty minutes drive from the center of the town of Pau.
There are three main fields of the education available for the students within the walls of the University of Pau and Pays de l’Adour, these are sciences, arts, and law. In addition to it there are the following institutions within the University of Pau and Pays de l’Adour - Institut Universitaire Technologique and Insitut d’Administartion des Enterprises. The university also offers two specialized libraries for the convenience of students.
